Though this was somewhat frowned upon in the 60’s and 70’s, feminist consciousness-raising ultimately became recognized as a necessity in liberating women on multiple fronts. Some people saw it as almost therapeutic, to openly discuss the lives and matters of women that are similar from individual to individual. Common female occurrences being talked about and put out in the open encouraged a sense of solidarity. Writer, Tracy Kennedy, stated that even though feminism has changed and evolved, “feminist blogging provides spaces for consciousness-raising and community building.”
