Week 4

Wikipedia week! Please read the items listed on the Class schedule page for Tuesday. You will also need to create an account on Wikipedia.org by Tuesday. On Thursday, response paper #1 is due. Check the assignment guidelines in the syllabus and look in the shared Dropbox folder (in the response papers folder) for samples so you can see what I am looking for.

On Thursday, meet in Bronstein Hall for a Wikipedia workshop with Dr. Famiglietti. By Thursday, you should choose your article or articles that you will work on for the Wikipedia project. In addition, I am asking you to bring 2-3 possible sources you could reference as you contribute to your Wikipedia article(s). The sources could be links, books, photocopies of library books, PDF files, or something -- you need to actually have them with you on Thursday. Sources may not include works of your own original research, other Wikipedia articles, or anything from social media except in special cases. Wikipedia has outlined what counts as a reliable source here. Remember your goal is to provide a neutral summary of knowledge that already exists on a topic -- not contribute analysis or create new knowledge.
